Welcome back to our 25th feature of RainbowFriday, we’re back up north this week to visit a South African shop in the UK – The Gloucester Biltong Company.
Since tomorrow is Heritage Day, South Africans worldwide will be celebrating their unique heritage. And what better reminder of your roots than a bit of biltong?
Shop of the week: The Gloucester Biltong Company
What started out as a hobby turned into a job for owner, Paul, who turned his passion into Gloucester Biltong.
Feeding friends, family and colleagues his biltong treats left them begging for more, and soon Paul signed up best friend and fellow biltong enthusiast, Craig, to help him establish a full-time biltong-making business. The business went from strength to strength – with expanded premises, a fully-equipped production room and a partnership with Ben Creese Country Butchers.
After obtaining their Health Mark from Gloucester City Council, Gloucester Biltong had the go-ahead to distribute their delectable produce throughout UK and Europe – giving customers far and wide a taste of South Africa.
